Description
The City of Salem is soliciting sealed bids for the South River Culvert Rehabilitation Project (IFB 27-20-ENG) at 73 Lafayette Street. The work includes site controls, excavation, demolition and removal of the existing culvert roof, repairs to existing concrete and granite-block walls, crack injection and grouting, tide-gate repairs, access-hatch replacement, installation of a new reinforced-concrete culvert roof slab during winter conditions, waterproofing, backfilling, utility protection or relocation, roadway and sidewalk restoration, erosion and sediment controls, dewatering, traffic control, and disposal of excess soil. The project also requires coordination with a property owner performing adjacent building demolition and reconstruction. Bids are evaluated on price, qualifications, and completeness. The bid package requires a 5 percent bid security, an original signed hard copy of the Bid Form, the original bid security, the Bid Submittal Checklist, Bidder's Representations and Certifications, Bidder's Qualifications, and a Non-Collusion Affidavit. Performance and payment bonds, insurance certificates, and other financial or corporate records are required after award rather than with the bid. The work must be completed within four months of contract execution, and the project includes Massachusetts prevailing-wage and applicable federal Davis-Bacon requirements.
