Description
The U.S. Geological Survey is offering one cooperative agreement to an eligible participating partner of the Great Lakes–Northern Forest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. The project will strengthen wildlife parasitology capacity by developing in-house molecular diagnostic tests, performing molecular diagnostics for high-priority cases, generating and depositing parasite reference sequences in GenBank, training National Wildlife Health Center staff in molecular parasitology techniques, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications or reports. The anticipated award structure is one base year plus four additional budget years, with total estimated funding of $276,000 and approximately $55,874 available for the first budget year. Applications must include a technical narrative addressing the research problem, objectives, geographic scope, methods, products and dissemination, schedule, references, and applicable legal or animal-use considerations; a detailed budget narrative and SF-424A; a Data Management Plan; biographical sketches and current and pending support forms for senior/key personnel; and a one-page Project Abstract Summary. Proposals are evaluated on research topic, personnel expertise, and work plan.
