Description
The City of Fairfield is soliciting a contractor to construct approximately 1,750 feet of sidewalk along the northerly and easterly sides of State Route 4 within the existing right of way. The work on the Jungle Jim's side of Route 4, between Holden Boulevard and Michael Lane, includes concrete sidewalk installation, some curb, an integral wall, and restoration. The engineer's estimate is $220,680. Notice to Proceed is expected in late October or early November, and the project must be completed by April 30, 2027. The project is identified as Community Development Block Grant-funded; the available materials indicate that federal prevailing-wage compliance, bonding, and related grant requirements may apply, but do not provide detailed requirements for those items.
