Description
The City of Avondale is soliciting a contractor to replace the existing motor control center and soft-starter equipment serving the 200-horsepower pumps at Well Sites 10, 11, and 12. The work includes demolition of existing MCC/soft-starter sections, removal and replacement of line- and load-side power cables, installation of standalone 600-ampere, 480-volt, three-phase, NEMA 3R reduced-voltage solid-state starters with bypass contactors, reuse or modification of existing conduits and control wiring, and installation of a pull box and related conduit at Well 10. The scope also includes commissioning, electrical system studies and acceptance testing, instrumentation and programming, owner training, as-built documentation, and related submittals. The solicitation requires a qualified C-11 specialty contractor and bids for the entire project. The engineer’s probable construction cost is $491,347, including contingency, overhead, profit, and taxes; this is an estimate rather than a stated contract budget.
