Description
Clara Barton Medical Center seeks a general contractor to modernize its Sterile Processing Department. The project includes approximately 1,915 square feet of new space, remodeling of approximately 1,500 square feet involving minor construction, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work, and cosmetic finishes across approximately 1,300 square feet. Work also includes operating room mechanical improvements, specialty equipment installation, and related construction necessary to complete the project. A mobile sterile processing truck will be used and connected during much of the construction to support continued surgical cases. The procurement requires a bid guarantee equal to 5% of the bid price, which may be a bid bond, certified check, or other negotiable instrument. The contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price. The bidder must not be debarred or suspended and must demonstrate the ability to complete the work. The project is supported by federal financial assistance; the stated total assistance award is $2,933,500, with 72% funded by CMS/HHS and $1,153,250 (28%) from non-government sources.
