Description
The City of Tampa's Mobility Department is soliciting a contractor to maintain, inspect, operate, repair, and replace components for five bascule bridges. The scope includes electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, lighting, motor-control, low- and medium-voltage, data and communications systems; bridge-pit cleaning and pressure washing; engineered drawings; preventative maintenance; new installations; component replacements; and bridge operation on demand. The contractor must provide qualified personnel, tools, equipment, materials, permits, facilities, and 24/7/365 emergency coverage. Emergency calls require acknowledgment within 10 minutes and on-site arrival within 90 minutes; routine repair requests require arrival within 24 hours. The bid requires extensive qualifications and supporting documentation, including organizational information, FDOT Maintenance of Traffic certification, ownership of the AASHTO movable-bridge maintenance manual, subcontractor information, Florida government references, proximity proof, equipment and safety programs, industry-longevity evidence, personnel licenses and work histories, and medium-voltage certifications. The award period is two years, with up to two additional two-year renewals and three optional 30-day extensions.
