Description
The U.S. Navy is soliciting a small business to manufacture the VANE, LARGE component for the MK 46 torpedo. The item must meet the design, manufacturing, performance, marking, configuration-control, packaging, and quality-assurance requirements of drawing 2526581, associated standards, and the contract schedule. Each material lot must undergo thickness-stability testing at 175°F for at least six hours, with growth exceeding 0.0002 inches resulting in rejection. The vanes require visual, dimensional, and mechanical examination under MIL-STD-105 sampling procedures, with Inspection Level II and stated acceptable quality levels of 1% for major defects and 4% for minor defects. A one-year warranty from delivery applies, and the Government may exercise an increased-quantity option 365 days after award. Award evaluation will use the lowest aggregate total price, including the option quantity.
