Description
The City of Norfolk is soliciting bids for a five-year contract to provide underwater services for the Battleship Ex-Wisconsin, including twice-yearly swim-by inspections, annual box-blank and stern-tube inspections, ICCP system surveys and cleaning, authorized hull cleaning, and underwater repairs such as welding and painting. The contractor must provide inspection reports, photographic documentation, cost estimates, itemized invoices, and emergency and non-emergency response services within specified timeframes. The scope also includes one underwater hull survey per five-year contract cycle, with hull-thickness gauging, coating-thickness measurement, cathodic-potential measurement, video inspection, digital mapping, and hard-copy and electronic reporting. Bidders must hold United States Navy Naval Sea Systems Command Underwater Ship Husbandry Management Division Code 00C5 certification for the required diving and hull-cleaning activities, and equipment must meet applicable Navy requirements.
