Description
The project involves modifying the east streambank of Gooseberry Creek and installing a steel pipe culvert beneath the existing Norfolk Southern Railroad using the jack-and-bore method. The work also includes riprap stream protection, cast-in-place concrete end treatments, general restoration, debris and excavated-material disposal, and associated appurtenances. The successful contractor must comply with applicable Illinois and federal prevailing-wage requirements, the Illinois Steel Products Procurement Act, Illinois employment and apprenticeship requirements, the Business Enterprise Program for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act, railroad protection requirements, railroad coordination and protective-services requirements, and specified insurance obligations. The bid must include a five-percent bid bond, and the successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds and required insurance documentation.
