Description
The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Bureau of Engineering, is pre-qualifying contractors for the CIP 2528 Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant Battery B Digester Demolition project. The estimated construction cost is $73,000,000, and the anticipated construction duration is 730 calendar days. Only the three highest-ranked pre-qualified contractors will be eligible to submit competitive bids for the subsequent project RFB. The work includes demolition and removal of six concrete digesters, ancillary buildings, control and transformer buildings, tunnels, piping, utilities, electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, foundations, and related structures. The scope also includes hazardous-material abatement, shoring design and installation for excavation up to approximately 22 feet below grade, deep excavation, utility isolation and rerouting, protection of adjacent tunnels and facilities, backfill, grading, new utility and electrical improvements, concrete work, roadway and drainage improvements, salvage, waste disposal, and related construction. Respondents must hold a California General Engineering Contractor Class A license and demonstrate relevant wastewater-treatment, industrial demolition, shoring, excavation, safety, environmental, bonding, insurance, and project-management experience. The SOQ requires a cover letter, construction experience and references, preliminary construction sequence and shoring approach, project management plan, key-personnel resumes, safety and claims records, completion history, quality-control approach, warranty information, responsibility questionnaire, and specified compliance forms and certifications.
