Description
The Belt Railway Company is requesting proposals from a fiber optic design consultant for the CREATE EW2 Segment A project, part of the 75th Street Corridor Improvement Project in Chicago. The selected consultant will design fiber optic relocations, including phasing and final plans; field-verify cable runs and junction boxes; coordinate with railroads, transit agencies, utility stakeholders, and engineering teams; review related track, roadway, bridge, drainage, signal, and utility plans; and address conflicts with construction sequencing. Deliverables include plans, specifications, and estimates at the 30%, 90%, and 100% design stages, comment dispositions, construction cost and schedule estimates, engineering support during fiber-line construction, shop drawing review, request-for-proposal support, and CREATE program document control. The consultant must provide a project manager for the duration of the design work, a Health and Safety Plan, railroad safety orientation and e-RailSafe participation as required, and compliance with applicable state and federal policies. Commercial general liability insurance with combined primary and umbrella or excess limits of $10 million per occurrence and $10 million aggregate is required, with the railroad named as an additional insured.
