Description
The New York State Department of State (DOS) is seeking applications for the Environmental Protection Fund Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (EPF LWRP) for the 2026-2027 funding cycle. This program provides grants to eligible villages, towns, and cities, as well as counties and Regional Planning Councils acting on their behalf, to advance community and waterfront revitalization. Eligible activities include preparing or updating Local Waterfront Revitalization Programs (LWRPs), with a focus on increasing resilience to climate risks, preparing LWRP components like Watershed Management Plans, and implementing existing LWRPs or their components. The program encourages projects that create safe, accessible, and inviting public waterfront destinations, prioritizing accessibility for all individuals and incorporating climate-adaptive design approaches. Approximately $13,975,000 is available, with a minimum request of $75,000 and a maximum of $2 million per application. State assistance will cover up to 75% of eligible project costs, or 85% for projects in designated Environmental Justice Areas or Disadvantaged Communities.
