Description
The City of Hawarden seeks a qualified firm or individual to inspect 12 residential structures before demolition. The work includes collecting representative bulk samples of suspect materials, arranging analysis through a NVLAP-accredited laboratory, and preparing written reports identifying the locations, quantities, and condition of asbestos-containing materials, with recommended abatement procedures where applicable. The contractor must provide documentation needed for demolition compliance and coordinate inspection scheduling and property access with the City. Respondents must demonstrate Iowa asbestos building inspector licensure, relevant residential demolition inspection experience, and familiarity with EPA NESHAP requirements. Proposals must include qualifications and personnel, relevant experience, a per-property fee and total not-to-exceed price for all 12 properties, and an estimated completion timeline. The selected contractor must comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements for federally funded work.
