Description
The Employment Development Department, on behalf of the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, is soliciting a contractor to provide daily mail courier services for the CUIAB facility. The contractor must pick up mail each working day, Monday through Friday, by 5:30 p.m., excluding state holidays, and deliver it by 6:00 p.m. to the designated U.S. Post Office. The expected volume is approximately one to three trays, boxes, or bags per day. The scope includes returning empty mail trays, collecting postage-due mail, picking up and delivering certified mail when requested, securing mail during transport, obtaining signatures for registered and certified mail, obtaining and submitting the required Post Office Form 3801 standing delivery order, and maintaining a daily service log. The contractor must provide all labor, vehicles, equipment, licenses, permits, and insurance necessary for performance. A valid Motor Carrier Permit is required when the vehicle's total transporting weight exceeds 10,000 pounds. The contract term is January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2028.
