Description
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is soliciting bids for one microcompounder for polymer processing and extrusion at elevated temperatures under an inert atmosphere. Mandatory minimum specifications include bypass capability for processing five grams or less, room-temperature-to-350°C temperature control, twin screws with co-rotating and counter-rotating operation, multiple barrel temperature zones, rheological measurement and reporting, screw speeds of at least 0–400 RPM, specified torque capacity and torque density, inert-atmosphere operation, future in-line spectroscopic measurement capability, and an adjustable barrel gap. The bid must include the equipment, FOB-destination-installed delivery, installation, shipping and handling, at least one day of on-site training, warranty and service-level information, delivery timing after receipt of order, and applicable tariffs. An optional barrel with an upgrade system for spectroscopic measurement may also be priced. The bidder must be the original manufacturer, an authorized distributor, or an authorized dealer with service and repair capabilities. Used, refurbished, reconditioned, remanufactured, and demonstrator equipment will not be accepted.
