Description
Buncombe County Schools is soliciting sealed proposals for the Valley Springs Middle School Mechanical Upgrade. The project includes removal and replacement of HVAC equipment serving the main building and gymnasium; installation of dedicated outside-air, energy-recovery, indirect gas-fired, and packaged DX equipment; integration with the existing Automated Logic BACnet building automation system through Harris Controls; associated electrical, controls, ductwork, and ceiling-grid work; and phased mechanical-unit replacement. Addendum 2 adds structural steel framing and steel decking requirements, revised air-to-air energy-recovery and automatic-temperature-control specifications, structural support and joist reinforcement for new rooftop units, and related drawings. The addendum also confirms that the pre-bid meeting was not mandatory, requires bidders to acknowledge the addendum on the Bid Form, and states that the district will retain its existing Automated Logic system and Harris Controls arrangement. Bids are evaluated on the base bid plus selected alternates, with the work divided into six phases.
