Description
The School Board of a Mississippi school district is soliciting proposals from qualified financial institutions to serve as the official depository for the district. The selected bank will be responsible for holding district funds in checking and savings accounts, paying interest based on a fixed or variable rate tied to the U.S. Target Federal Funds Rate, and providing an earnings credit rate to offset service charges. The bank must be FDIC-insured, meet a primary capital-to-assets ratio of at least 5.5%, and have offices located in Mississippi. It must pledge eligible securities with the State Treasurer equal to 105% of the maximum deposit amount (or be a public funds guaranty pool member) and execute a Collateral Security Agreement. Services include monthly statements, same-day ledger credit for deposits made before 2:00 PM CST, and various account services such as wire transfers, stop payments, night depository, positive pay, and internet banking, all at no charge or with minimal fees. The bank must also provide annual reports, assist with cash management advice, and support the annual audit at no cost.
