Description
The Crystal Lake Park District in McHenry County, Illinois, plans to issue General Obligation Park Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source) not to exceed $2,000,000. These bonds will fund the acquisition of land for parks, as well as the building, maintenance, improvement, and protection of existing and new park land and facilities. The payment of the bonds will be secured by proceeds from general obligation bonds or notes, and property taxes and other revenues collected for Corporate Fund purposes. If these sources are insufficient, ad valorem property taxes will be used without limitation. A public notice has been issued, allowing for a petition to be filed within thirty days of publication (April 28, 2026) requesting a referendum on the bond issuance. If a sufficient petition is filed, an election will be held on November 3, 2026. If no petition is filed within the 30-day period, the District will be authorized to proceed with issuing the bonds.
