Description
The Kentucky Department of Parks is soliciting bids for the Pennyrile Dam Repairs project at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. The base bid work includes removal of the existing low level drawdown system and installation of new reinforced concrete stop log guide walls with sill and slots, as well as a new low level drawdown system including gate thimble, concrete overlay, and concrete operating platform. Leakage reduction measures involve installation of PZC-18 metal sheet piling along a specified corridor and backfilling between the sheet piling and the upstream face of the dam. Downstream face work includes masonry joint repairs, masonry stone replacement, and tree removal. Additionally, the existing pipe handrail along the concrete walkway will be replaced with an OSHA and IBC-compliant handrail system with a safety gate at the new gate operator. The existing siphon pipe will be extended upstream of the sheet piling, and the existing water line along the walkway handrail will be reinstalled or replaced in-kind. Demolition work includes full or partial demolition of the pipe handrail, existing gate, stem, operator, and components, with possible localized chipping of the concrete slab near the bottom of the existing gate. The contractor is also responsible for site safety, maintenance of traffic, water control, site security, and site cleanup.
