Description
The City of Richmond Transportation Engineering Division seeks a qualified contractor to investigate damaged fiber optic conduit supporting the City's traffic signal communications. The work includes accessing existing conduit through Streetlight Division manholes, performing a CCTV inspection, identifying and documenting the approximate location and extent of damage relative to the manholes and intersection, and coordinating access and applicable safety and traffic-control requirements. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, and materials; deliver a digital copy of the CCTV inspection video; and submit a brief written report summarizing the inspection findings and damage location. The scope is limited to inspection and documentation and excludes conduit repair, replacement, excavation, and restoration. Work must be completed within 30 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, during working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Personnel entering confined spaces must have required training and certification, and personnel must be qualified and authorized to work safely around applicable medium- to high-voltage electrical equipment.
