Description
Western Carolina University's College of Engineering is seeking an automation system integrator to design and construct a baseline automated conveyor system for robotics and automation laboratory instruction. Students will use the system to design, mount, and test industrial-level process-control solutions. The system is expected to follow a Bosch-style power-and-free conveyor configuration with an opening between the tracks for bottom access to pallets, but equivalent conveyor brands and vendors are acceptable if they meet the specifications. The Cartesian gantry components may also be sourced from alternative manufacturers, provided they meet the requirements and integrate readily with the university's Allen-Bradley controls platform. The buyer indicated that delivery may extend into the spring semester, with a target of mid-to-late March rather than the previously stated December 14 deadline.
