Description
The City of Kalamazoo is soliciting sealed bids for the supply and delivery of approximately 64,400 gallons per year of liquid sodium bisulfite at a minimum concentration of 38%. The chemical must meet specified technical requirements, including minimum solution strength, specific gravity, density, pH, viscosity, and freezing point. Bidders must provide a certified chemical analysis and product safety data sheets with their bids. Deliveries will be made by tank truck on an as-needed basis, generally in approximately 4,000-gallon loads, within five working days after the City's request. The contractor must provide unloading equipment or special hose fittings, provide 24-hour delivery notification, and deliver during specified weekday hours. The contract is for one year beginning January 1, 2027, with four possible one-year extensions by mutual agreement and a possible month-to-month continuation of up to six months. Unit prices remain firm during each contract period. The bid package requires completion and return of the bid and award pages, a reference questionnaire with at least three similar contracts performed within the last five years, the requested product documentation, and other specified bidder information. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, commercial general liability of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate, and automobile liability of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence; proof of insurance is due after award or when the contract is returned for execution.
