Description
The City of Kalamazoo seeks a supplier for bulk liquid ferric chloride under a one-year contract beginning January 1, 2027, with four possible one-year extensions and potential month-to-month continuation for up to six months. The estimated annual usage is 9,711 gallons, delivered in 4,000- to 8,000-gallon loads, preferably 8,000 gallons, to the City's wastewater treatment plant. Deliveries must be made within 48 hours after telephone order release and require a tank truck equipped with an air compressor and a four-bolt delivery connection. The ferric chloride must meet detailed drinking-water-quality specifications, including minimum 37% concentration, specified purity and contaminant limits, double filtration, and no detectable insecticides, pesticides, PCBs, or hexachlorobenzene. Bidders must submit a certified independent laboratory chemical analysis dated within six months before the invitation date; quarterly analyses are also required during performance. The bid requires pricing for ferric chloride and freight, along with delivery and product information, at least three similar-contract references from the past five years, and the completed bid document. Electronic bids are not accepted.
