Description
The City of Kalamazoo is soliciting sealed bids for a one-year contract beginning January 1, 2027, to supply liquid phosphate water-treatment chemical. The product must be a 32% active blended phosphate containing 15% polyphosphate and 85% orthophosphate, meet the specified physical and chemical requirements, and be certified under ANSI/NSF Standard 60. Carus 8700 is identified as the only qualified blend, and alternates will not be accepted. The contract includes estimated annual quantities for mini-bulk delivery, 616-pound drums, and true-bulk delivery of up to 2,000 gallons. Deliveries will be made as required to multiple water-treatment locations, with at least weekly delivery capability and emergency delivery within 24 hours. The contractor must provide a certified chemical analysis and safety data sheet with each delivery, provide shipment notices and advance telephone notification, and maintain firm delivered pricing. The contract may be extended for four additional one-year periods by mutual agreement, with a possible month-to-month continuation of up to six months.
