Description
The City of Kalamazoo is seeking a contractor to replace approximately 495 feet of water main, including 40 feet of 6-inch ductile iron water main installed by trench excavation and 455 feet installed by horizontal directional drilling. The work also includes a 12-inch live tap, water services, fire hydrant installation, polyethylene encasement, fittings, insulation board, abandonment and cut-and-plug work, sanitary sewer lead conflict work, and associated testing, disinfection, flushing, and as-constructed documentation. Additional work includes storm sewer and drainage structures, pavement and sidewalk removal and replacement, HMA paving, aggregate base, fencing, slope restoration, erosion and sedimentation controls, maintenance of traffic, and contaminated-groundwater dewatering with treatment and disposal. The project requires sealed bid submission, prevailing-wage compliance, a 5% bid bond, full performance and labor-and-material payment bonds, insurance, subcontractor information, and at least three similar-work references from the past five years.
