Description
The U.S. Geological Survey’s Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center seeks an eligible Rocky Mountain Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit partner to research tradeoffs among hydropower dam operations, multispecies conservation, recreation, flood control, and electricity generation. The work will develop a spatially explicit simulation modeling framework to support adaptive management, including compiling and analyzing data, developing a watershed environmental template, and modeling fish population and evolutionary dynamics. The project also includes regular collaboration meetings and delivery of peer-reviewed data and code releases and publications describing the framework and its results. The selected partner will submit a three-year project proposal, including a technical narrative, a three-year budget narrative and SF-424A, and a supplementary Data Management Plan. The application must also include a Project Abstract Summary, biographical sketches for senior/key personnel, and current and pending support disclosures. The award is expected to be one cooperative agreement with estimated funding of $341,565. Applicants must be participating partners of the Rocky Mountain CESU.
