Description
Chicago Public Schools is soliciting proposals for a turnkey enterprise next-generation firewall and network security solution to replace and enhance its existing firewall environment. The scope includes discovery, capacity analysis, high- and low-level design, firewall appliances, physical and virtual or cloud-native enforcement components, management platforms, licenses, subscriptions, optics, cabling, staging, rack-and-stack, configuration, migration, testing, cutover, rollback, and hypercare. The solution must support the District’s data centers, Internet edge, business-to-business connections, private-fiber WAN hubs, more than 550 schools and other locations, disaster recovery, and hybrid-cloud platforms. The awarded contractor must provide centralized security management, high availability, threat prevention, application control, intrusion prevention, malware and botnet protection, DNS security where proposed, file detonation, TLS/SSL decryption, DLP capabilities, VPN support, identity integration, automation, monitoring, SolarWinds and Splunk integrations, logging and reporting, and at least 40 Gbps of threat-prevention throughput with growth beyond 100 Gbps of aggregate inspected throughput. The scope also requires project management, documentation, training and knowledge transfer, 24x7x365 support, hardware replacement, lifecycle services, service-level commitments, security and compliance support, and detailed five- and seven-year pricing. The contract is anticipated to run for five years with up to two optional one-year renewals.
