Description
The City of Renton is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide civil and structural engineering design services for Phase 5 of the Rainier Avenue Corridor Improvements project. The work covers preliminary engineering for roadway reconfiguration, transit upgrades, traffic operations, a center median, illumination, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, potential utility upgrades, pedestrian crossings, and structural retaining-wall design. The scope also includes surveying, traffic analysis, permit support, pavement and surface-water design, preparation of plans and specifications, right-of-way needs and plans, accessibility analysis, constructability review, and bid support and analysis. The City may retain the selected firm for subsequent environmental, right-of-way, and construction-management phases. The agreement is expected to begin in September 2026 and continue for approximately two years, with possible extensions. A voluntary 10% SBE goal applies, with a required SBE Participation Plan before work begins and required outreach to provide SBE firms maximum practicable opportunities.
