Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Erie VA Medical Center, has a need for a worship pianist to provide musical leadership for Roman Catholic and Protestant worship services. This contract is anticipated to be for a 5-year period, with a potential start date of September 1, 2026, and an end date of August 30, 2031. The pianist will be responsible for providing piano or keyboard accompaniment for services, arriving at least fifteen minutes prior to scheduled events to play ten minutes of prelude music. Experience with a VA chapel or religious congregation is required, as is the ability to accurately perform hymns from the chapel hymnal and provide a special music piece if requested. The services are typically held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, with the possibility of two services on Sundays. The pianist must be available for scheduled services and must attend at least 65% of them, with the option to designate a substitute. Mandatory VHA trainings will also be required.
