Description
This solicitation is for the supply of backup stem sleeves, a critical component for shipboard systems. The material is designated as SPECIAL EMPHASIS material, meaning that incorrect or defective material could lead to serious consequences, including loss of life or the ship itself. Therefore, strict control procedures are invoked to ensure the receipt of correct material. The requirements include adherence to specific drawings (e.g., NAVSEA Drawing 803-5959302) and specifications, with detailed provisions for material analysis, non-destructive testing (including radiography), and welding/brazing processes. The contractor must maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 and ensure traceability of all materials and processes. Certificates of Compliance and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) are required for all supplied items and tests performed. The contract also includes detailed requirements for material handling, receiving inspection, and final inspection, with a focus on maintaining material traceability throughout the supply chain. The warranty for supplies is one year from the date of delivery.
