Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Highlands Conservation Act Program provides grants to eligible lead state conservation agencies for land acquisition projects that protect high-conservation-value resources in the Highlands Region. Projects may conserve water, forest, agricultural, wildlife, recreational, or cultural resources. A state agency may hold the acquired interest, or it may be held by a county or municipality through a subaward; conservation easements may also be co-held with eligible partners. Applicants must provide a 50% non-federal cost share. The notice lists an award floor of $25,000 and an award ceiling of $3,850,000, and requires a project narrative, budget narrative, maps, and applicable federal application forms. Applications are submitted through Grants.gov or GrantSolutions.
