Description
This solicitation is for the replacement of batteries and associated components for the 48V DC emergency power backup battery cell systems at Building P-310, a communications node at the Pinion Canyon Maneuver Site (PCMS) in Model, Colorado. The existing batteries are over 12 years old and require replacement to prevent network disruptions during power failures. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to remove existing batteries, housings, and covers, and to install new Absolyte VRLA battery cells, modular steel tray housings, and protective covers. The work includes reconnecting alarm/control cable harnesses, bonding and grounding battery stacks, and performing a battery load test to ensure the new system can support 500A for 2.00 hours. The contractor will also be responsible for recycling old batteries in accordance with environmental guidelines. The period of performance for installation is from July 15, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The solicitation is a total small business set-aside.
