Description

Long Beach Unified School District seeks a qualified vendor to replace aging core MDF and IDF access switches at four schools. The work includes project planning and migration coordination; removal and disposal of legacy switches and IDF UPS/XPS equipment; installation and configuration of Cisco 9500 and 9300 switches or equivalents; integration with Cisco DNA; licensing; testing; documentation; and post-installation support and remediation. The scope also includes replacing specified fiber and Cat6A patch cables and SFPs, rack and cable-management cleanup, labeling, and maintaining existing network functionality. Disruptive work must generally take place outside school hours, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. The contractor must provide a dedicated project manager, coordinate weekly status meetings, and provide daily updates after nights of work. The solicitation requires a 90-day workmanship warranty and a four-hour response time for user-impacting issues. Proposals must include itemized eligible and ineligible costs, an itemized bid price sheet, respondent information and qualifications, at least three references from winning proposals within the last three calendar years, and the required proposal forms and bid security. Proposers must be prequalified through Quality Bidders, hold an applicable California contractor license, and provide a current SPIN and FCC registration number. A mandatory pre-proposal conference and job walk are required. The project is contingent on E-Rate and District funding; the proposal must include a $30,000 District-controlled contingency allowance. The successful proposer must furnish 100% performance and payment bonds.
