Description
Palm Beach County Department of Airports is soliciting bids for the expansion of an existing airfield electrical vault by approximately 2,500 square feet, interior renovation of the existing structure, and replacement of the existing roof. The work includes demolition, site work, concrete, masonry, insulation, roofing, doors, finishes, plumbing, HVAC modifications, electrical system modifications, fire alarm, grounding and lightning protection, airfield electrical equipment, regulators, ALCMS controls, fiber-optic and power/communication wiring, and related airport safety and security measures. Replacement of the standby emergency power generator, including a 400-kW generator, fuel storage tank, foundation, and associated electrical work, is an additive alternate. Bidders must be properly licensed, submit the County-provided bid forms and attachments, provide one original and two photocopies of the completed bid, and include bid security of at least 5 percent of the base bid. The prime contractor must perform at least 25 percent of the work with its own direct-hire forces. Performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of the contract price and required insurance are required after award. The project has a 140-calendar-day procurement phase, 120-calendar-day construction phase, 30-calendar-day substantial-completion phase, and 30-calendar-day final-completion phase, beginning after the notice to proceed.
