Description
The Village of Shiloh, St. Clair County, Illinois, plans to issue general obligation bonds in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $8,000,000. These bonds will be used to finance various capital improvements, primarily the construction of a new police station, and to cover associated costs of issuance. The bonds will be payable from collections distributed from Retailer's Occupation Taxes, Service Occupation Taxes, Use Taxes, and Service Use Taxes, as well as ad valorem property taxes levied within the Village. A public hearing regarding the proposed bond issuance is scheduled for May 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, located at #1 Park Drive, Shiloh, Illinois. The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments on the proposal. According to Illinois law, if a petition signed by at least 773 registered voters is submitted to the Village Clerk within 30 days of the notice publication, the question of issuing the bonds will be put to a referendum on November 3, 2026. If no such petition is filed, the bonds will be authorized for issuance.
