Description
The Norgaard Scholarship provides a grant to deserving graduating seniors of Dayton High School for further education at an approved college, university, or trade school. Recipients are selected by a trustee committee based equally on citizenship, scholarship, integrity, activities, and future educational plans; students pursuing vocational education receive careful consideration. The scholarship is for one year and may be renewed annually if funds are available and the committee approves. Applicants must submit a letter of application describing future educational plans and a resume of activities and interests. A high school principal's rating sheet and rating sheets from two teachers must also be submitted confidentially by those individuals. Up to two brief recommendations from Columbia County citizens are optional. The scholarship amount and number of recipients are determined by the trustees. Payment is made directly to the educational institution after enrollment verification, in two installments.
