Description
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities is conducting the Winter 2027 Affordable Housing Competition for Rental Projects. The competition offers federal and state resources, including low-income housing tax credits, affordable housing subsidies, housing trust funds, transit-oriented development funds, project-based vouchers, and other program-specific funding. Eligible applicants generally include for-profit and nonprofit developers. Projects may involve new construction, rehabilitation, preservation, or redevelopment of affordable rental housing, subject to program-specific eligibility rules and minimum unit requirements. Applications must follow an approved pre-application submitted through Housing OneStop. The competition prioritizes projects serving extremely low-income households, including homeless families and individuals, and evaluates sustainability, accessibility, development-team strength, financial viability, market feasibility, local support, readiness, development costs, and prior performance. The amendment changes the application closing deadline to January 7, 2027, at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
