Description
The City of Huntsville is seeking a qualified general contractor to construct the Beaverdam Creek Sanitary Sewer Extension, Project No. 71-26-SP17. The project includes approximately 1.75 miles of gravity sewer and related appurtenances in Limestone County, including ductile iron, HDPE, PVC service lines, precast concrete manholes, manhole connections, abandonment of existing sewer, and installation of a steel liner plate by tunneling beneath wetlands. Additional work includes mobilization, erosion control, fence removal, storm drainage, asphalt paving, traffic control, watertight manhole covers and vent pipes, permits, utility locating, and NPDES compliance. Bidders must hold the required Alabama general contractor license and either the Highways & Streets or Municipal & Utility classification. The bid requires a bid bond or certified check of at least 5% of the bid amount, capped at $10,000, and the successful contractor must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. The contract time is 360 calendar days, and the prime contractor must perform at least 30% of the total contract cost with its own organization.
