Description
The City of Huntsville is soliciting sealed bids for construction of intersection improvements along Huntsville Northern Bypass (Alabama Highway 255) and Memorial Parkway (U.S. Highway 431/Alabama Highway 1), Project No. 71-26-SP60. The base bid includes two new traffic signals, drainage improvements, turn lanes, roadway paving and striping, utilities, streetlights, sidewalks, erosion control, traffic control, and related construction. Option 1 includes additional work at Howard Place Drive, the sanitary sewer extension, Proposed North Drive, and North Village Boulevard. Bidders must hold the required Alabama general contractor license classification of Highways & Streets or Municipal & Utility. The bid package requires two signed hard copies, pricing on the City-provided Attachment A Excel file on a working thumb/flash drive, a bid bond or cashier’s check of at least 5% of the bid amount capped at $10,000, the addenda acknowledgment, subcontractor listing, references for at least five similar projects, and the other specified bid attachments. The base bid contract time is 236 calendar days and Option 1 is 326 calendar days. The contractor must provide required insurance, including $2,000,000 general liability coverage, and payment and performance bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount after award.
