Description

The Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) seeks proposals from qualified and experienced substance use providers to provide family-centered, gender-responsive, gender inclusive, trauma-informed, culturally competent, comprehensive substance use disorder (SUD) Family Residential Treatment (FRT) services for families in Massachusetts who meet the criteria of ASAM 3.1. Applicants are expected to demonstrate their commitment to participating in a continuum of SUD services that include prevention, intervention, treatment, aftercare, and recovery support. BSAS seeks to fund approximately seven family residential programs, including at least two programs for two-parent households and single male-identifying parents, where one parent has an identified SUD. All programs will provide family treatment services for pregnant people. BSAS seeks applicant sites that have a capacity for at least 11-15 families. The goal of Family Residential Treatment (FRT) is to provide a safe, caring, and family-centered treatment environment that supports parental recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) and provides parenting skills and dyadic supports for parents and their children. Programs will support parents with obtaining and sustaining Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) and will collaborate with providers as needed. Programs will be inclusive of gender identity, race, ethnicity, and abilities, and will be able to identify and address the co-occurring mild to moderate mental health needs and will accommodate needed referrals and coordination of care.
