The City of St. Clair Shores is soliciting a lump-sum bid for a complete commercial standby power generation system serving the approximately 15,500-square-foot 40th District Court courthouse. The contractor must evaluate existing conditions, perform the required electrical load analysis, determine the appropriate generator and transfer-equipment capacity, furnish and install the system, remove the existing generator, and provide all associated electrical, natural-gas/mechanical, site, permitting, testing, commissioning, startup, training, warranty, and closeout work. The system is intended to support whole-building courthouse operations during utility outages, including HVAC, lighting, electrical distribution, information technology, communications, security, and other critical loads. The proposal must identify the proposed generator and automatic transfer switch equipment, sizing basis, technical characteristics, product data, schedule, service and warranty information, pricing breakdown, assumptions, and at least two comparable references. A 5% bid bond, contractor licensing, insurance, local service capability, onsite maintenance, safety planning, training, and material safety data sheets are required. The mandatory pre-bid walkthrough on October 12, 2026, is a condition of eligibility; an additional walkthrough on October 20, 2026, is optional for eligible bidders. The bid opening is scheduled for October 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. local time.
