Description
The United States Navy, through NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg, is soliciting offers for the manufacture and supply of a retainer stem, piece 5, in accordance with Newport News Drawing 2285-304. The component is designated as Special Emphasis material (Level I) for use in a crucial shipboard system where defective material could result in serious injury, loss of life, or loss of vital shipboard systems. The required material is UNS Alloy C90300 in accordance with ASTM-B505. The contractor must meet extensive quality assurance, inspection, testing, certification, configuration-control, packaging, and material-traceability requirements. These include maintaining an ISO 9001-based quality system, providing chemical and mechanical material certifications, nondestructive-test certifications when applicable, a certificate of compliance, traceability markings, government source inspection, and required quality-system documentation. The solicitation is a total small-business set-aside, the resulting contract will be DX-rated for national defense under DPAS, and the close date is November 5, 2026.
