CENIC is procuring Category One data transmission services for the K–12 High Speed Network, including 19 standalone data transmission circuits, 19 leased lit-fiber circuits, 19 optional leased dark-fiber strands, and related Category One maintenance and operations. Requested capacities range from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps, with solutions including MEF-compliant Metro Ethernet, dedicated lit DWDM or direct-fiber point-to-point service at 1, 10, 100, or 400 Gbps, and pairs of single-mode dark fibers. Installation and initial configuration are required, and final quantities may vary based on available bandwidth and network configuration. Responses must use the required Circuit Pricing Worksheet (Exhibit D); PDF and locked-spreadsheet responses are not accepted. Supplemental pricing explanations may be included. Bidders must review the RFP and exhibits for minimum requirements, terms, disqualification factors, and deadlines. An NDA is required to obtain CalREN hub-site addresses unless the bidder already has a current NDA on file. Exhibit E provides special-construction information that successful providers may need to supply to USAC upon request.
