Description
The University of Louisville seeks a general contractor for a comprehensive interior renovation converting the first floor of a former pediatric clinic and office into workplace space for university Pediatrics divisions. The contractor must provide the labor, materials, and equipment shown in the project manual and drawings, including selective demolition and architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection work. The scope includes two bid alternates: replacing doors rather than salvaging and reusing them, and providing and installing manual roller shades at exterior windows. The work also includes coordination with owner-furnished and owner-installed items, protection and dust control in an occupied facility, daily cleanup, and project closeout deliverables. Bidders must submit a proposed construction schedule, itemized pricing, specified qualification and subcontractor information, product literature as applicable, and a bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the bid. Performance and payment bonds are required from the awarded contractor; the solicitation states that the workers’ compensation form, certificate of insurance, performance and payment bonds, and itemized pricing are required when signing the contract, not with the bid.
