Description
The University of Louisville is soliciting Construction Manager/General Contractor services for the renovation and reconfiguration of an approximately 7,000-square-foot existing fresh tissue laboratory and morgue in the lower level of the School of Medicine at the Health Sciences Center. The project will create a high-fidelity surgical education facility with a flexible instructional laboratory, operable partitions, expanded cadaver storage, a temporal bone laboratory, embalming and morgue areas, offices, storage, specialized equipment, modern finishes, technology systems, and associated building infrastructure. The selected CM/GC will provide pre-construction services, design-phase estimating, constructability and schedule reviews, value engineering, long-lead-item and owner-supplied-material coordination, trade-package bidding, construction administration, commissioning coordination, and construction services. Work will occur in a fully occupied facility with limited lay-down space and must maintain operational continuity. The anticipated construction cost is $3,200,000, with a total project cost of $4,600,000. Design is scheduled for completion by March 31, 2027; substantial completion is required by December 17, 2027, and final completion by December 31, 2027.
