Description
This Sources Sought notice is for market research only; the Air Force Academy is not requesting proposals or quotations at this time. The anticipated requirement is to control noxious weeds on approximately 720 acres of unimproved rangeland using DoW/Armed Forces Pest Management Board-approved herbicides. Work includes primarily spot spraying, with broadcast spraying limited to dense infestations where native vegetation cover is below 50%, and coordination with Natural Resources on treatment locations and priorities. The contractor would furnish herbicides, labor, equipment, and supplies; protect sensitive natural and cultural resources; and achieve at least 90% visible weed damage or control within 30 days, with retreatment at no additional cost where that threshold is not met. The anticipated work also includes monthly records of herbicide applications and maps of treated areas, reporting newly identified weed populations, and submitting product labels and safety data sheets for proposed herbicides. Contractors must hold a Colorado commercial applicator's license for rangeland weed control. The notice requests company and socioeconomic information, examples of similar work, business-sector information, interest in a site visit, estimated pricing for market-research purposes, and relevant commercial practices. Responses are limited to five pages. The contemplated contract is one base year with two to four option years; the stated estimated performance alternatives are August 1, 2027–July 31, 2030 or August 1, 2027–July 31, 2032.
