The Navajo Division of Transportation (Navajo DOT) is soliciting proposals for the N9659 Coyote Canyon Gravel Project. The work consists of blading, shaping, and compacting approximately 2 miles of existing earth road located at Coyote Canyon, New Mexico. The scope includes roadway reconditioning (grading to a 24-foot width with specified slopes, repairing soft areas, and recompacting to 95% compaction), subgrade preparation (processing the top 6 inches and compacting to 95% moisture and density with a 2% crown), placing 3 inches of Aggregate Base Course (Type 1 inch FP-14 Table 703-4) compacted to 95% compaction, and implementing a Traffic Control Plan. The contractor must provide all manpower, equipment, materials, and incidentals. Applicable standards are the Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects (FP-14). The contract term is one year from the Notice to Proceed with an option to extend based on mutual agreement and availability of funds.
