Description
Bexar County Facilities Management seeks a contractor for a phased interior renovation of the Medical Examiner’s Office at its Forensic Science Center. Work includes converting basement laboratory space to offices and storage, expanding first-floor storage for workstations, and remodeling second-floor offices. The scope includes selective demolition; new wall, floor, and ceiling finishes; carpentry and millwork; doors, glazing, and flooring; and modifications or installation of electrical, mechanical, fire protection, low-voltage, technology, and plumbing systems. The contractor must provide low-voltage cabling, use a Panduit-certified installer for that work, and coordinate construction around continued occupancy, including required after-hours work and security staffing. Bidders must submit pricing for the specified alternatives and furniture-relocation allowance. The bid package includes a bid form, contractor and subcontractor qualification forms, and a subcontractor list. A bid bond of 5% is required. The bid form describes an expected project duration of approximately 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed; the bidder may propose a different duration. The solicitation also requires at least five years of similar-project experience.
