Description
The State seeks a prequalified contractor to thin pinyon and juniper trees and pile slash across approximately 180 acres. Work includes cutting designated trees, preserving marked leave trees, piling slash to specified standards, and keeping trails and visitor amenities clear. The contractor must provide a minimum 10-person crew, chainsaws, qualified operators, and GPS-enabled equipment or smartphones for identifying project boundaries; all labor, equipment, materials, mobilization, and operating costs are included in the bid price. The work is intended to reduce catastrophic fire risk and promote vegetation growth and diversity. The project must be completed by December 31, 2027, with work beginning within seven calendar days of the notice to proceed. Bids are limited to contractors on the State of Utah Rangeland Prequalification List for the applicable treatment and acreage. The solicitation requires an online bid table and responses to the portal's required questions and certifications. The stated project budget is $128,700.
