Description
The City of Hammond is seeking proposals for the purchase of annual uniforms for its Fire Department and Police Department. The contract will be for a period of twelve (12) months from the award date, with the possibility of two additional twelve (12) month renewal periods, contingent upon the successful proposer's ability to honor quoted prices. No specific quantities are guaranteed, and all uniform orders will be placed on an "as needed" basis. Key aspects of the solicitation include: * **Scope:** Annual uniforms for Public Safety (Fire and Police Departments). * **Measurements:** Initial measurements will be made at designated department locations after award, on an "as needed" basis. * **Alterations:** All alterations will be performed at no cost to the City and must be completed in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the employee. * **Emblems:** Patches and rank stripes will be furnished by the City departments to the awarded vendor, who is responsible for sewing them on at no additional cost. Embroidery will be an additional charge. * **Delivery:** Uniform orders will be delivered FOB Destination to the appropriate City department at no cost to the City. Each order will be bagged or packaged for individual employees, including the employee's name and department, with a list of contents. * **Fees:** All additional rates and fees (e.g., restocking fees, upcharges for special sizes) must be submitted with the proposal and will remain firm for the original term of agreement. No additional surcharges will be permitted if not submitted with the proposal. The City reserves the right to award contracts in the manner deemed to be in the best interest of the City, potentially awarding separate contracts for different uniform categories or to multiple proposers.
